Free MBTA bus service is introduced in Dorchester, Mattapan, and Roxbury.

The pilot program, initially funded by the city, begins with Bus 28 that runs from Mattapan Square to Ruggles Station. The program is expanded, funded by the MBTA, to include Bus 23 and Bus 29 on March 1, 2022.
